Pellet prices in the Raipur region remained firm over the past few days, supported by a rebound in trading activity and stronger downstream markets. As per traders, Pellet price Raipur (Fe 63%) was steady at ₹9,300/t DAP, with deals concluded in the range of ₹9,200–9,400/t exw. There has been an estimation that around 75,000 t of material was traded, reflecting improved buyer participation. The recovery was underpinned by a week-on-week rise of ₹500/t in sponge iron prices and a sharp ₹1,100/t increase in billet prices, while firm bids at recent OMC iron ore fines auctions helped maintain a price floor for pellets.
Looking ahead, pellet prices in Raipur are expected to remain supported in the short term as demand has resumed and spot availability has tightened following inventory liquidation by producers. Improved liquidity in the steel segment and stable raw material costs are likely to sustain market confidence. If current momentum in sponge iron and billet prices continues, sellers may attempt marginal upward revisions in offers, although any slowdown in finished steel demand could limit further upside.
