Hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices continue to decline this week, currently ranging between ₹47,000 and ₹ 49,500 per tonne (or $529-557 per tonne). A similar trend was seen for cold-rolled coil (CRC) prices as it fell week-on-week to ₹53,300-57,800 per tonne (or $600-651 per tonne).
On October 14, 2025, benchmark prices for HRC (IS2062, Gr E250, 2.5–8 mm/CTL) decreased by ₹300 per tonne ($3 per tonne) to ₹48,000 per tonne ($541) from ₹48,300 per tonne ($544) on October 7, 2025. CRC (IS513, Gr O, 0.9 mm/CTL) dropped by ₹200 per tonne ($2) to ₹55,500 per tonne ($625) from ₹55,700 per tonne ($627) a week before.
The HRC market in India has softened amid sluggish demand. Distributors are reporting a drop in demand from the buyer side, remarking on fewer inquiries and sales registration slowing. Current activity levels are also a result of the festive season. However, many expect to see some improvement in overall conditions and clarity in the market once the holidays are over.
However, as per the data sources, India imported 149,540 tonnes of HRC through and an additional 174,813 tonnes are expected to arrive by month-end based on vessel line-up data.
