Prices for ERW patra pipe have increased significantly across most Indian markets, driven primarily by improved post-festive demand and a rapid rise in raw-material costs. In Raipur, prices increased by ₹900/t week-on-week to ₹38,500/t exw, due to very active trading post-festive of the Diwali and Chhath Puja holidays. Mandi Gobindgarh price was also quite firm at ₹40,800/t exw in steady market demand, following increased buying interest. Key materials, hot rolled strip and billets, increased in prices in Raipur by ₹1,300 and ₹1,050, respectively, and also contributed to encouraging rises in ERW pipe pricing.
Outlook
The short-term outlook for ERW patra pipe pricing remains cautiously optimistic, backed by higher raw material pricing and recovering interest downstream. The market sentiment may remain volatile, although it depends on supply chains and regional buying interest. Demand should remain solid in the short term; however, any corrections in either patra or billets could temper further anticipation of further gains in the pipe price. Stability in raw material and continued momentum in trading will be important in order to sustain the current price level.
