ERW Patra pipe prices reflected mixed regional trends during the week ended 30 January 2026. Raipur saw a week-on-week decline in price of ₹400 per ton to ₹43,200 per ton exw, as a result of lower raw material prices, including Hot-Rolled strip at ₹42,800 exw, and Billet at ₹40800 exw. Demand, however, was poor as the buyers remained hesitant due to declining prices. Conversely, Mandi Gobindgarh experienced price increases of ₹500 per ton week-on-week to ₹46,500 per ton exw; supported by the price of Hot-Rolled Strip (Patra) rising to ₹45,400 per ton exw, while Billet price remained stable at ₹44,600 per ton exws. Despite an increase in prices, the majority of inquiries were for previous price points, making it difficult to purchase at the higher prices due to being unable to find buyers.
Outlook:
ERW Patra pipe prices are anticipated to remain volatile in future markets. Increased prices on raw materials -especially in Mandi- should provide some support for prices around current levels (₹46,500 per ton exw); however, poor demand and buyer caution may hinder any upside movement. In Raipur, prices are expected to remain under downward pressure in the range of ₹43,000 to 43,200 per ton exw until raw materials stabilize. Overall, purchasing interest is likely to only begin to increase after there is greater price stability and evidence of increasing demand.
