Coking coal prices CFR India after remaining stable for a week, a marginal uptick on 13th August 2025, driven by post-monsoon restocking demand from Indian steelmakers. As monsoon-related logistical challenges have begun to ease, particularly in eastern and central India as mills have resumed sourcing to rebuild depleted inventories. The coking coal, HCC, peaked at ₹200-201 per ton on 14th of August 2025, an increase of ₹7-8 per ton on a monthly basis.
The demand has been supported by the infrastructure and construction sector, which will accelerate post-monsoon.
Outlook:
Thus, the market is likely to remain cautiously optimistic, with prices expected to stay firm in August if demand momentum continues.
